More at Live Oak, Texas November 11-12, 2006

Creepy Crawlies
Another shot from the latest reptile show. Spiders and furry friends such as Sugar Gliders are also included in that show.

While I am not immediately a fan of spiders I have to admit that they are ecologically necessary and this one seemed to love posing as I snapped away.

And just for the record that is not my hand.

Now that's a big bug!

Hot Show - Live Oak, Texas Nov 11-12, 2006

Monocled Cobra

This is only one of the photos I took at the last hot show on November 11-12 2006 in Live Oak near San Antonio, Texas.

Please bear in mind that while I love seeing and photographing all the gorgeous snakes especially the venomous ones, I would not buy one nor would I handle one. I do not have the proper education and am not a professional in regard to handling venomous snakes.

I do not support any amateur that handles venomous snakes since it is foolhardy and very irresponsible. I also have very mixed emotions and concerns about the vendors that sell those snakes to just anyone with the cash to pay for them.

After reading much of the material I have read about various venomous snakes I wonder if some of the amateurs would still buy them if they actually knew what the venom was and how it affects the human body. Some of the venoms do positively horrific damage long before killing the victim.

Also, most counties do not allow venomous snakes to be kept in other than a proper zoo with qualified staff so just having them can bring about serious legal problems for an owner.

So, by all means please enjoy the photos as I put them up but please be responsible about snakes. Protect, love and cherish them for the fascinating, beautiful and necessary animals they are but don't handle any venomous snake and please don't buy them.

It could very easily cost you or someone close to you their life.

New posts and a new template design

This is an interjection post in that it isn't animal/reptile related. I want to apologize for not having posted in such a long time and I plan on posting at least a few great photos from this years Live Oak Texas hot reptile show near San Antonio, Texas this past weekend.

I also want to say that I have been trying to decide how I want to change my blog's looks. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas on that subject please feel free to email me. Once I decide on what style I want to do then it's template time.

Since I am a photographer and graphic artist I have used Adobe Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro as well as numerous other such programs for about 12 years, I will create my own graphics for the new blog. Again, ideas are most welcome.

I will be posting several separate bits today along with some really cool photos.

Keep it tuned to this channel people. Peace, love & kiss your reptile.
